Study Objective - Fulbright

One of the important parts of Fulbright scholarship application is the study objective. AMINEF, the organization who administers Fulbright selection in Indonesia has made it clear that your study objective should be a concise (only one page) and conveys several points:

Give your reason for wanting to pursue them in the U.S. Describe the kind of program you expect to undertake, and explain how your proposed field of study fits in with your educational background, your professional background, your future objectives, and your future involvement in community development.

However, from time to time, a number of people have been asking me how to write a good study objective for this scholarship. Honestly, I do not think my study objective is a decent one, but at least it covers the points that Fulbright committee wants to see. Another thing is, I revised my study objective over and over again, perhaps more than 10 times. So it's not a one-shot effort.

I decided to upload my study objective and you can download it here. Perhaps it can help others when constructing their own study objective. Use this document wisely and I highly discourage anyone to just copy paste the essay, it's plagiarism and most likely you will not pass the scholarship screening.

Good luck.
